Comme l&#8217;affirme le professeur Mitch Gohnert de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 du Witwatersrand (WITS), \u00ab pour changer notre fa\u00e7on de construire, il faut prendre en compte \u00e0 la fois la conception et les mat\u00e9riaux \u00bb. Vanja Bulovic, \u00e9tudiante en master \u00e0 WITS, a pris ces propos \u00e0 c\u0153ur et a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de r\u00e9aliser son m\u00e9moire sur le logement durable \u00e0 bas co\u00fbt, utilisant des mat\u00e9riaux diff\u00e9rents et non pas n\u00e9cessairement des conceptions conventionnelles.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 qu&#8217;environ 30 % du co\u00fbt de construction d&#8217;une maison standard est consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la structure de la toiture, qui n&#8217;augmente pas la surface habitable, Bulovic a \u00e9mis l&#8217;hypoth\u00e8se qu&#8217;il serait possible de r\u00e9duire ce co\u00fbt en utilisant \u00e9galement l&#8217;espace de la toiture pour l&#8217;espace habitable. Cela l&#8217;a conduite \u00e0 concevoir des mod\u00e8les pr\u00e9sentant une courbe cat\u00e9naire invers\u00e9e pour obtenir un toit incurv\u00e9 capable de supporter son propre poids sous une compression parfaite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En pratique, elle a pu r\u00e9aliser ce mod\u00e8le en utilisant des blocs embo\u00eetables Hydraform. Cela a permis de r\u00e9aliser des \u00e9conomies suppl\u00e9mentaires gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un temps de construction r\u00e9duit et \u00e0 l&#8217;utilisation de mortier sur seulement 30 % de la structure. La brique de s\u00e9paration Hydraform a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9e pour construire la structure incurv\u00e9e du toit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La maison construite par Bulovic \u00e0 WITS a une superficie d&#8217;environ 75 m\u00b2, soit pr\u00e8s du double de celle des logements sociaux actuels. En l&#8217;\u00e9tat actuel des choses, et sans compter la main-d&#8217;\u0153uvre et les finitions, son co\u00fbt de construction est d&#8217;un peu moins de 10&nbsp;000 dollars am\u00e9ricains. Son efficacit\u00e9 thermique est actuellement test\u00e9e et devrait \u00eatre nettement sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des structures traditionnelles en briques et mortier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hydraform esp\u00e8re qu&#8217;une fois pleinement test\u00e9e, la maison WITS Hydraform pourra \u00eatre reproduite dans n&#8217;importe quel pays en d\u00e9veloppement.
